About the Harvest Foundation

Our Vision

Our Vision is to see every member of every church sacrificially serving in their world as Jesus served in His.

The Harvest Foundation is part of the Church, the Body of Christ. We believe Christ has called us to equip local churches to witness to God’s great love through humble and sacrificial service with local resources.

Our main focus of activity is in the majority-world, sometime called the developing-world. The gifts we receive are used to train local church leaders to disciple their members to both individually and corporately live out the Gospel in their families, in their churches and in their communities.

Our roots are from the Evangelical tradition, and we subscribe to the Lausanne Covenant. We are currently active in 30 countries where there are 83 qualified national volunteer trainers.

What We Do

We train, coach, disciple, and mentor leaders as well as leaders-in-training through our wide range of resources including curriculum, books, podcasts and videos.  Our training is designed for in-person or remote sessions that can be adapted for diverse contexts ranging from informal groups to formal Doctor of Ministry programs.

All of our resources relate to our primary program called the Samaritan Strategy.

We also provide a donor-advised funding service for projects that we certify and monitor.

Our History

Our founder, Bob Moffitt, began the Harvest journey in 1981 with a vision to help local churches in the developing world add to their passion to evangelize an equal passion to demonstrate God’s great love, and to see that they can do that without depending on outside or foreign resources. This story is detailed in Bob’s book, “The First Thirty-Two Years,” which was written 32 years into our forty years of history.
